With mild stomach problems, a stomach tea can often serve well. This either consists of a single substance or contains several different tea drugs. It is important to have a list of ingredients that is tailored to the symptoms.
Cause of stomach upset
Stomach discomfort manifests itself in the form of stomach pressure, feeling of fullness, malaise and nausea. Anorexia, heartburn and an intolerance to certain foods are also to be mentioned here. There are simple but also serious causes that can lead to stomach problems.
On the one hand, this can be a nervous stomach, for example before an exam, which manifests itself as malaise and loss of appetite, or a slight stomach upset after a sumptuous meal, which worsens your appetite. Likewise, contaminated food, which results in a massive event in the stomach and intestines with abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, can be the reason. Other possible causes are stomach ulcers and ultimately stomach cancer.
If the affected person suffers from recurring and / or acute massive complaints, a doctor must be consulted in any case. Only mild stomach problems, which quickly recur, can be treated with various stomach tea recipes.
Various types of stomach tea
Stomach tea can be bought in powder or bag form, but also loose. The powder is easiest to use. Most of these mixtures contain the ingredient licorice, which is the first thing that comes to mind when you open them. The licorice root is actually hidden behind the licorice, which is said to have a soothing and relaxing effect on the stomach.
A stomach tea in a sachet is a little more complex to use, but not exactly the most effective way to do something for the stomach. The most effective tea is still in bulk. In general, this should always be freshly brewed and then drunk in sips. Longer storage in a teapot is not recommended.
Tea for stomach problems does not necessarily have to consist of several herbs. Of course, the use of a single plant is also possible. However, the mixing of several individual active ingredients is usually the more effective variant, since the individual substances support each other in their effects. The selection of the right ingredients is particularly important. Arbitrariness is not appropriate here.
The various blends are available in drugstores and pharmacies. A certain tea blend can be freshly and individually put together in herb shops or pharmacies.
Common plants in stomach tea
Most stomach tea recipes contain chamomile. This is a plant that inhibits the growth of bacteria and viruses. The next plant commonly found in recipes for stomach upset is peppermint. It is one of the oldest medicinal plants and, with its stomach-strengthening effect, is hardly inferior to chamomile. Peppermint is also often used for nausea and nausea.
For complaints that have a psychological component, balm is preferred. Their calming effect can be enhanced by the use of hops, which are also found in many recipes for stomach tea. Bitter substances contained in centaury, dandelion and gentian help with anorexia.
Homemade tea blends
From the variety of magenta tea blends, a few proven examples should be mentioned here. All tea recipes can be purchased in pharmacies.
Recipe: Herbal tea for a nervous stomach
When stress, nervousness and restlessness hit the stomach, the following mixture can provide relief. Twenty grams of chamomile flowers, ten grams of peppermint leaves, ten grams of lemon balm leaves and five grams of hop cones make a tea mixture that strengthens the weak stomach a little.
Stomach tea with feeling of pressure, slight inflammation and acidity
For this tea chamomile flowers, peppermint leaves and lemon balm leaves are mixed in equal parts. The mixture soothes the irritated stomach lining and relieves the feeling of pressure.
Recipe for stomach tea for feeling full after meals
Flatulence and feeling of fullness are quite uncomfortable. The following stomach tea creates some relief. The mixture consists of ten grams of toasted fennel fruit, five grams of centaury, five grams of thyme herb and five grams of gentian root.
For flatulence and a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen, especially if certain dishes are not tolerated, a tea made from aniseed fruits, fennel fruits and caraway fruits is also suitable. All three ingredients are mixed in equal parts and lightly knocked beforehand so that the essential oil can escape somewhat. This stomach tea is a tasty, healthy drink.
Use of the magenta tea
For the preparation of the tea blends, a three-finger dose (the amount that can be absorbed with the thumb, index and middle finger) is sufficient for a large cup (approx. 250 milliliters). It is poured with boiling water and should then take about seven to eight minutes. After straining, the tea should be drunk in small sips and unsweetened, preferably three to five times a day. If the condition does not improve within three days, a doctor must be consulted.
A stomach tea is not a substitute for a medicine and does not save you going to the doctor. Often, however, accompanying a conventional medical treatment, an individual tea recipe can serve well and support healing.
Under no circumstances should any herbal tea blend be drunk continuously for more than four to six weeks. After that, there must be a break or switch to another tea. (sw, nr)
