Trader Joe’s roasted onions from Aldi may contain metal foreign bodies
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, the supplier Delizza GmbH and Aldi Nord are currently warning of a health hazard that may be caused by fried onions that were sold at various Aldi Nord branches. Apparently, the fried onions can contain metal parts. For reasons of preventive consumer protection, the product concerned is recalled and should not be consumed.

Affected is the promotional item "Trader Joe's Roasted Onions" in the 200 gram pack with the best before dates May 20, 2020 to May 22, 2020. The affected goods were in the Aldi-Nord branches in Beucha, Beverstedt, Datteln, Herten, Hesel, Schloß- Holte, Horst, Lehrte-Sievershausen, Hann. Münden, Weimar, Nortorf, Rinteln, Salzgitter, Scharbeutz, Werl and Wilsdruff.

Purchase price will be refunded at Aldi
"It cannot be ruled out that some packages contain foreign metal bodies," Aldi Nord warns in a consumer information. Because of the risk of injury, the article should therefore no longer be consumed. The affected goods can be returned to any Aldi branch. The purchase price will be refunded there. (vb)
