Contamination from glass parts: wholesaler calls back canned corn
Eurogast Österreich GmbH has started a recall for canned corn. Glass parts could be in the product. Consumers are asked not to consume the product concerned.
Possible contamination from glass parts
The wholesaler for gastronomy, hotels and commercial kitchens, Eurogast Austria, is calling back canned corn because a quality control “has identified a possible contamination from glass parts,” as the company wrote in a message. The recall is the product "Crunchy young sweet corn" of the brand Eurogast, filling weight 2120 g, drained weight 1775 g, batch: Best before 31.12.2021.K198 20:13.
Goods should not be consumed
The company advises that the affected product has been removed from the shelves.
"Customers are asked not to consume this product," says the message.
And: "All customers who have already bought one of the potentially affected products should contact their Eurogast partner immediately, the corn will be replaced free of charge."
Splinters of glass can cause serious injury
Food that could contain broken glass or broken glass should in principle no longer be consumed.
These can lead to serious injuries in the mouth and throat or to internal injuries.
